Limerick City Childcare Committee has established childcare networks for parents, childcare providers and childminders in Limerick City.
The networks are facilitated by the staff of the city childcare committee and provide an opportunity for participants to share information, and to avail of advice and support.
The networks provide:
- Information sharing and support.
- Discussion on current childcare issues.
- Training workshops.
The City Childcare Committee have been involved in offering training workshops to childcare providers and parents since March 2003.
- Areas covered include:
- Selection and recruitment of staff
- Effective team leadership
- Paediatric First Aid Managing challenging behaviour
- Child Protection Developing an after school service
- Arts and crafts
- Transitions in your child's life
- Understanding special needs
